What is Medicare Supplement insurance?
Medicare Supplement insurance (also called Medigap) helps pay for some of those out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare (Parts A and B) doesn’t cover.
When you’re enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, a Medicare Supplement plan can help with expenses like deductibles, copays, and coinsurance that would otherwise come straight from your wallet. These plans are designed specifically with Kansas City seniors in mind, helping you get the most from your Medicare coverage.
A few things to know:
- Medicare Supplement policies cover just one person, so spouses need separate plans
- You’ll continue paying your Medicare Part B premium plus a separate premium for your Medigap coverage
- Once enrolled, your plan automatically renews each year as long as you pay your premium
